I graduated from Lipscomb University in 1993 where I earned my BA in Political Science Communications with a minor in Journalism. Later that year I married my husband and eventually mom to my 2 sons, ages 19 and 16. I love spending time with family and friends, cooking, antiquing, politics, and being outdoors.
What began as a hobby when my first son was born evolved into my love for interior decorating, and home staging. While my children were young, I found that styling my home (as well as friends’ homes) was not only a creative outlet but also my passion. I saw the value of creating spaces that were warm, inviting, and reflective of individuals’ styles.
Furthermore, I was seeing that longing exist for most every woman I knew. So over the years I worked on various projects in my home and then onto dilemmas my friends were having in their own homes. Finally in 2010 I took a leap of faith and started my own interior styling & home staging business, Gracious Spaces.
My philosophy remains the same: Our homes set the tone for our family – for good or bad. When our space is chaotic we tend to see chaos crossover into our everyday lives. But when a space feels functional, ordered, and pretty we just naturally feel calm and content. I think bringing order and beauty to the home fulfills a longing that exists in the hearts of women, carrying out God’s first purpose for us . . . being a true “home” maker.
